Introduction + PresentationIn the meeting which has been held on monday 13 june 2005, the acting vice Minister highlighted the main successes and failures in the implementation Phase and measures that should be taken in future. The acting vice minister also Spoke of the role of the ministry of planning & int'l cooperation and Development partners who were supportive during the preparation, Implementation and follow-up phases of the prsp.
The acting vice minister attributed the failure to achieve certain goals to Numerous reasons, including the september 11, 2001 and the iraq war 2003.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ahmed SOFAN received a South Korean delegation headed by the South Korean Trade Minister. The two men discussed ways to promote trade links and investment prospects between the two friendly countries.
SOFAN told the Korean senior official that his visit is
a window of opportunity to contemplate prospects for
economic and trade cooperation noting investment
opportunities in Yemen in electrification, oil and gas and
the free trade zones. He spoke of the Yemen Investment Law
and facilities provided under the law to attract Korean
investment.
The DPM said Yemen's exports
to South Korea registered $238 million while imports reached
$59 million last year.

The Government of the Republic of Yemen represented by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation has been leading consultations with the private sector, civil society, the donor community and political parties to discuss the draft progress on the implementation of the first year of the Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS).
The session with the donor
community aimed at exchanging ideas and comments on draft
PRS progress report. The plenary also reviewed development
indicators achieved by the PRS during its first year of
implementation across all sectors.
Participants from the donor
community have voiced their observations on the draft report
and the indicators especially those related to the water
sector, problems facing the health sector and issues related
to economic growth. Further discussions and exchange of
views are programmed between the government and the donor
community.
